There have been a few items I have come across that are almost always in my daily routine. Not only because they are quick go-to’s but also because they are inexpensive, super delicious and versatile.
I also wanted to share my various ways I use all of these products.

All of these products prices may vary depending on where you are but the lest expensive are the yogurt cups at around 1.70$ in Calgary, Canada and the quinoa being 4.99$. I picked all of these up at Canadian Superstore but I have also seen them in heath food and organic stores.
So Nice For Coffee soy cream beverage
I use this in my coffees, teas, and sometimes on fruit as well. Its a great substitute for regular cream and doesn’t have strong flavour. I also really enjoy this because of the similar cream consistency. Its not like regular almond or soy milk that seem to be a little too watery for coffee, it mixes in well and makes your drink creamier.
Chickpeas (Garbanzo Beans)
Any canned chickpeas work and although not a substitute, these are a great source of protein and I use them constantly in my recipes. If you’re trying to sub out meat, these are a great option as you can throw them in noodle dishes, soups, sandwiches and salads. They also surprisingly contain calcium, vitamin A&C, and iron. They also last long in a can so I always keep a few in my kitchen for the days when I can’t think of what to make.

Quinoa is another staple for me as I use it more so many different recipes. It can however, be costly depending where you get it. I found this bag by Casbah and it was only 4.99 for 200g! Quinoa is gluten-free, high in protein and one of the few plant foods that contain all nine essential amino acids.
It’s also high in fibre, magnesium, B-vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and vitamin E!
Almond Fresh Chocolate Milk
I love these chocolate almond milk’s because they taste amazing and are great to grab when you’re in a rush. They’re the perfect chocolate milk substitute and still maintain a high calcium percent. I got a pack of 3 for under 5$ and they don’t have to be refrigerated until opened so they are also a good item to keep a few of for when you want one.
Daiya Yogurt Cups
These are an amazing substitute for dairy yogurt and you would never tell the difference. They have plenty of flavours but strawberry is my favourite. I got 3 of these for under 5$.
